This week marks the launch of the 10th annual UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD). To market this milestone, it has been announced that the London-Shanghai stock market connection has been launched, meaning UK listed companies will be able to sell shares in China.

Many finance events and conferences are being held over the week, reaffirming the many connection the UK has with China in London’s heart of business. One of those events was the FSS Fintech Roundtable, held at Pewterers’ Hall, and due to the fintech focus, was the first event UKDE was in attendance of during a week of ideas, connection and the chance to explore future opportunities as we advance alongside the rapidly evolving nature of the industry.
The following day was the UK-China Corporate Cooperation to Assist BRI Development Conference, hosted by ICC NDRC, Refinitiv and the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC). The topic at hand was China’s future investment focus domestically and overseas, as well as challenges and opportunities.

The Sichuan-London Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar was the final event UKDE attended over this week. The purpose of event was to strengthen the links of cooperation between Sichuan and the UK. This provided the opportunity to learn from and network with the delegation from Sichuan in attendance, led by Vice Party Secretary, Deng Xiaogang.
